The desire of the people of Rivers is for peace, not war, according to Wenenda Wali.

The National Leader of Unity House Foundation (UHF), a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), Kingsley Wenenda Wali, urged the people of Rivers to reject hatred and embrace love and peace in the New Year.

The head of UHF, focusing on good governance, social justice, and peace advocacy, conveyed this message amidst the ongoing crisis in the state.

Wali highlighted the prevalence of hatred and negative politics during political transitions, expressing concern about the focus on tearing down the achievements of previous administrations rather than building on them.

He questioned the prolonged existence of political animosity and the detrimental effects it has on governance and the well-being of the people.

Reflecting on the history of political transitions in Rivers State, Wali emphasized the need to break free from the cycle of animosity and emphasized the importance of prioritizing peace over conflict.

He questioned the cost and benefits of past political wars, urging a shift towards recognizing the value of peace for the overall development of the state.

Wali, who has personal relationships with a significant majority of the political leadership in Rivers State since 1999, described most of them as pleasant gentlemen.

He expressed sorrow over how power transforms individuals and urged them to embrace their patriotic sides, advocating for Rivers State to become the focal point of their politics.

Wali encouraged support for a shift away from animosity, emphasizing the need for the promotion of peace and egalitarianism in Rivers State.

He questioned when the spirit of Rivers departed from its people, urging a self-reversal of the exorcism for the spirit of Port Harcourt to prevail.

Highlighting the love for life among Rivers people, including political figures, Wali acknowledged the festive atmosphere at political events with their pomp, pageantry, and music.

He emphasized the importance of making 2024 the year when Rivers State reclaims its position as the centerpiece of Nigerian politics, with a sole motivation of aspiring to good governance.
