The Cross River State Police Command verifies the occurrence of a kidnapping.
The Cross River State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of several passengers near Nde 3 Corners Akparabong Junction in Ikom Local Government Area.
Gunmen ambushed the transit vehicles, shooting at them and injuring three passengers. The spokesperson, SP Irene Ugbo, verified the incident but did not provide specific details.
The attack occurred on Sunday, and efforts are underway to secure the release of the abducted passengers and prevent a recurrence in the area.
A local resident, Mr. James Ese, mentioned that the Akparabong Junction has become a dangerous spot for motorists and commuters, attributing the frequent attacks to alleged herdsmen. He urged security agencies to address the situation promptly.
