 An official from Partfinder International Limited, an aviation security company, was arrested at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, for attempting to send a suspected illicit drug on a departing Ibom Air flight to Accra, Ghana.  According to the statement by the Director of Public Affairs & Consumer Protection, Obiageli Orah, the employee asked a passenger to carry a parcel on the flight.  The passenger became suspicious, raising concerns about potential involvement in drug trafficking.  A two-year-old toddler named Bronson Battersby reportedly died of starvation next to his deceased father, Kenneth, in the United Kingdom.  According to the Daily Mail, the family revealed that Battersby was discovered wearing pajamas beside his father, aged 60, who is believed to have suffered a heart attack shortly after he was last seen alive on Boxing Day. A social worker, conducting a routine visit, found no response when visiting their home in Skegness, Lincolnshire, on January 2. After a second unsuccessful attempt on January 4, the social worker contacted the police.  Shockingly, the bodies of Kenneth and Bronson, who was considered vulnerable and received weekly checks, were not discovered until January 9 when the social worker, using a key from the landlord, gained access to the home.   Donald Trump is expected to appear in a New York court on Tuesday for a civil case where he has been previously found responsible for sexually abusing and defaming the writer E. Jean Carroll.  A jury last May concluded that Trump assaulted her in a New York department store in 1996, awarding her $2 million for the assault and $3 million for defamation over Trump's 2022 remark.  The upcoming trial will determine the amount Trump should pay for separate remarks made in 2019, with Carroll seeking $10 million in damages.  Trump, the Republican frontrunner, plans to attend the proceedings in person, following his victory in the Iowa caucuses and ahead of the New Hampshire primary.  Despite requesting a postponement for his mother-in-law's funeral, the judge denied it, noting Trump's plans to meet with supporters in New Hampshire.  The Rivers State Police command reported that its officers killed a sought-after cult leader, Silas Oderere, and his accomplice during a shootout in Oderereke community, Ahoada West Local Government Area of the state. Oderereke, also known as 'general,' led the Greenlanders' cult group in the Ubie clan in Ahoada West and had been evading capture for the past four years. Grace Iringe-Koko, a Superintendent of Police and spokesperson for the State Police Command, confirmed the demise of the two criminals in a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Sunday.
