It’s international women’s day and today like every other day in the life of a woman, we are striving to break bias! I remember in 2017 when someone who came to see me in my newly set up office said to me “your husband really set you up nicely oh.” I remember telling her that though my husband is supportive, he wasn’t the one who set me up. The woman looked surprised and said “then it must be your father. He must have spent a lot of money doing this” to which I again replied that I appreciate my dad but, No, it wasn’t my father who set me up. I set myself up. Why did I do that? Even though I could have smiled and kept quiet, I responded because I wanted that woman to know that she didn’t need a male figure or anyone to set her up. I wanted her to know she is in charge of her life and is fully capable of making decisions that affects her growth and happiness. Today, the reality is that we break the bias that not only society has set for women but even the ones that women have set for t

Happy International Women's Day. As a woman, You're not just an entity, you're so important in the agenda of God. You are God's general, you are a deliver who is expected to deliver God's general too, a godly seed after your likeness so you cannot afford to live your life anyhow. Don't yield yourself to be used of the devil to fulfill his mandate of raising ungodly seed. Live your life in partnership with the Lord to fulfill His agenda through you. You're created as a woman not for procreation or for the other room alone. You are created for a purpose. You have your destiny to fulfill. Discover yourself, equip yourself, work upon yourself, allow the holy spirit to work upon you and manifest what God has designed you to be. Pour out those potentials in you. Someone wrote on his whatapp status and I agree with the person, he quoted a verse from the scripture. He said ' *he who founds a wife has found a good thing and obtain favor from the lord', he

The first day i saw a woman truck-driver, i was shocked and not just me, all of us at the shop where i was. In fact we started screaming " obirin lo n wa trailer yi o" ( this truck-driver is a woman) Today, women taxi/cab drivers are normal part of our society. I however saw the one that really got me on sunday, a woman commercial tricycle driver with baby strapped on her back! That's the height of hustle. I dont know what situation pushed her to go that extent, I don't know if it was her choice or life forced her into such.. I salute her courage To my fellow woman, who is working hard to be fufilled Who is taking up challenges Who is crushing mountains of impossibility.... I celebrate YOU! May we finally get to the height of fulfilment. Temitope Gbenga-Afesojaye 😗😗😗😗

International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality. IWD has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people. Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere. IWD is not country, group or organization specific. International Women's day is powered by collective action and shared ownership for driving gender parity is what makes International Women's Day impactful. Gloria Steinem, world-renowned feminist, journalist and activist once explained "The story of women's struggle for equality belongs to no single feminist nor t
Obedience....

The subject of obedience was what we studied and reviewed for our search the scripture today. In the course of the study, we talked about how God dealt with those that disobeyed him in the scripture ( the likes of King Saul, Achan, Jonah, the Israelites, Ananias and his wife and so on) and the way he is dealing with us in this our dispensation. I then remembered one of my write up about obedience, a lesson God taught me then. We often disobey God and feel nothing happens, we cry unto him for mercy and he forgives. We are in the dispensation of GRACE so we think, but God taught me a lesson which came back to me again today and I will like to share. The question came to me then that do I know that there are levels and realms of glory in this kingdom? So many get stuck in a level because of many things. Some because of their disobedience. Yes we are under grace

World Glaucoma Week scheduled from March 6 to 12, 2022 is an initiative intended to put the spotlight on glaucoma as the leading cause of irreversible blindness worldwide. Glaucoma is a group of ocular diseases with various causes that ultimately are associated with a progressive optic neuropathy leading to loss of vision function. Glaucoma remains a growing public health concern as the numbers are projected to increase exponentially. According to WHO report on Vision 2019, there are 76 million people aged 40 to 80 years with glaucoma worldwide. In Nigeria, the prevalence of glaucoma-specific blindness was 0.7 % among those aged 40 years and above (Abdul MM et al, 2009). It was estimated that 1.2 million adults in Nigeria had glaucoma in 2012. (Kyari F et al 2015). Prompt diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma can prevent needless vision impairment. Unfortunately, so many are unaware they have the disease or may not have access to care. World Glaucoma Awareness week provides a platform fo
