The name ' Kardashians ' has been a trending topic on Nigerian twitter since  INEC  began announcing results of Saturday's presidential election. According to these very hilarious tweets, 'Kardashians' simply refer to the 'sexiness' and the 'star power' of election results that could come in from   Kano, Kaduna and  Katsina  states and the influence results from these northern states will have in determining who will become the next president of Nigeria. WITH results from 18 states of the country and Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress, APC, had an early lead over his Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, opponent, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in last Saturday’s presidential election. According to authenticated results from the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Buhari led Atiku with about 1000,000 votes at press time in what could pan out as Nigeria’s keenest presidential race. Of the states declared so far, Atiku won in Oyo,Ondo, FCT, Abia,Plateau, Adamawa and Enugu. That of Oyo, the only state Atiku won in the South-West was very spectacular because he narrowly beat Buhari with 1,363 votes. Atiku was also leading in Akwa Ibom, Delta, Anambra, and Benue. On the other hand, Buhari emerged the victor in 11 states, namely, Ekiti, Osun, Ogun, Lagos, Kwara, Nasarawa, Kogi, Yobe, Sokoto and Gombe. He was also leading in Borno, Katsina, Kebbi,  and Kaduna at press time.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, today informed Justice Valentine Ashi of a Federal Capital Territory, FCT High Court sitting in Apo that it has written to the Attorney General of the Federation, AGF, Abubakar Malami, SAN, in respect to the extradition of a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, from the United Kingdom. Diezani and Jide Omokore, a former Chairman, Atlantic Energy Drilling Company, were supposed to be arraigned by the Commission on February 25, 2019, for offences bordering on conspiracy and illegal act of accepting and giving gratifications. They are alleged to have accepted and given gifts in properties located at Penthouse 22, Block B, Admiralty Estate, Ikoyi, and Penthouse 21, Building 5, Block C, Banana Island, Lagos. They are to be arraigned on February 25, 2019 on a five-count charge for the offences, which are contrary to Sections 26(1) of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000. Embattled American singer,  R. Kelly has pleaded not guilty to 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse he was charged with. His attorney Steve Greenberg entered the not guilty plea for Kelly on Monday and also revealed that Kelly has turned in his passport. The R&B star was indicted last Friday in Cook County for sexually assaulting four women between 1998 and 2010. His alleged victims include three who were aged between 13 and 17 at the time. On Saturday afternoon, a judge set bond at $1 million. To leave custody, he'd have to pay 10% of the total, or $100,000, but he doesn't have enough money to post $100,000 bail. Greenberg told reporters that his client's finances are "a mess," and that "he really doesn't have any money." Multiple press outlets have also reported that according to court documents, Kelly owes more than $160,000 in unpaid child support. Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), soundly defeated President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State, securing 410,266 votes to his opponent’s 378,072. However, after the figures were announced one local government after another, the PDP agent rejected Atiku’s victory in three local governments — Numan, Michika and Madagali — arguing that since the first had been plagued by herdsmen and the other two by Boko Haram, it was impossible to get such huge population of voters with Permanent Voter cards (PVCs). ENUGU-PRESIDENT General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo has raised the alarm over situations in Lagos state and the threat to lives of Ndigbo residing in Lagos. He also expressed worry over alleged hostage taking of electoral officers in Imo state by Governor Rochas Okorocha, noting the the Residents Electoral Commissioner in Imo state said his life was on danger. Nwodo however acknowledged the concern of apex Yoruba organisation, Afenifere, for condemning the disenfranchisement of Igbo voters in parts of Lagos state. Nwodo in a statement in Enugu raised some concerns. He said: “Forty-eight hours after our elections, we still have no results.
