A lady identified as Ogochukwu Anene aka Ada Akwa has passed on after being assaulted by her husband in Awka, Anambra State. According to reports the deceased was married to Ndubisi Wilson Uwadiegwu & their marriage had been one ladened with domestic violence. Narrating the latest incident that led to her death, the first son, 14, said that Ndubuisi used a mirror as an instrument to beat his wife. He noted that his mother had asked the suspect for money to buy a loaf of bread for them to eat but was met with rejection as he claimed he didn’t have a dime on him. She used her money to buy the bread & her husband went to the kitchen to finish the whole loaf of bread. This got Ogochukwu infuriated & she proceeded to ask him why he ate the loaf of bread without remaining for the kids. He got rankled by her inquiry & unleashed horror on her. He beat her black & blue which led to her demise.

A  journalist based in Syria has explained why he still has to be doing the dishes in his house, despite having three wives.   Posting a photo of him in the Kitchen, the man wrote; ''Some people think 3 wives is all about sex & being the boss.  The Central Bank  of Nigeria has ordered Deposit Money Banks not to pay customers making over-the-counter withdrawals of new naira notes again. The apex bank issued the directive to the banks on Wednesday and ordered that the implementation must begin immediately. However, as of Friday, the banks had not been able to comply with the directive as they complained of inadequate supply of the new notes, prompting them to load their ATMs with the old notes. A source in a Tier-1 bank, who informed one of our correspondents of the CBN directive on Thursday, said her lender on Thursday issued a memo in that respect to all the branch managers to enforce the CBN order. One Amina Guguwa, who strangled her 60-year old co-house wife, Amina Kolitoto, to death, is in police custody, the Police command in Bauchi has said. The State Police Command confirmed  this in a statement signed by its spokesman, SP Ahmed Wakil, Friday in Bauchi, indicating that the incident happened in Miya, a village in Ganjuwa Local Government Area (LGA) of the State.   Three persons were confirmed dead while eight others were injured in an accident involving a Toyota Corolla car and a Nissan Micra taxi at Ile Ise Paanu, Ewekoro Local Government area of Ogun. Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi, the Spokesman of Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) confirmed the incident in Abeokuta on Friday. " According to an eyewitness, the driver of the Corolla car, due to excessive speed, lost control while in motion and rammed into the Micra taxi from the back while passengers in the taxi were alighting from it,” he said. Akinbiyi explained that 11 people were involved in the accident, comprising four males and seven females, adding that eight people were injured while three died.  Man who came home for Christmas found dead inside his car in Anambra A 50-year-old man identified as Udoka Eze, who visited home for the Christmas holiday has been k!lled in Nawfija community in Anambra State. According to eyewitnesses, the man was found dead in his red Toyota Camry car along Umunze road today January 4.   A Kenyan woman has been accused of burning her son's hand for allegedly stealing her . The 9-year-old boy who is currently receiving treatment at Ndhiwa Sub-County Hospital, has been identified as Polycarp Otieno Odhul and it was gathered that the incident occurred at Lower Kayambo location within Ndhiwa Sub-County.   The area senior chief Cyprian Obonyo said that he received the information from vigilant members of the community who noticed bruises on the hands of the minor.   Obonyo revealed that the woman who sells clothes at Ndhiwa market decided to hide her son for almost one week after the incident.   He said;   “Upon receiving the information, I immediately made an urgent move to the location and found that the boy had been hidden by the mother for almost a week.“   The Chief said the boy confessed that the mother tied his two hands, poured paraffin and then lit them on fire.   So one faithful afternoon, I was cooking my beans peacefully oo, without stress . I decided to add washing clothes to the afternoon chores . Was busy with the clothes when I asked hubby to help me check my innocent beans and yam on the fire oo. The beans was already well cooked oo my people .  I was sure it was tasty enough already before asking him to check and dish it . Brethren oga took longer than expected in the kitchen o , I suspected he was up to something as he has stayed longer than expected .  Good morning house. I need your opinion on this issue. Around May last year, my husband and I went with my 4 year old daughter to visit my sister in-law (hubby's elder sister). They insisted they wanted her to stay some days with them, that I should return for her in two or three days time. After much persuasion from my oga, I left her. But my heart wasn't settled because I've never stayed away from her for that long.  Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman Mahmood Yakubu and other top officials have received the last consignment of Bimodal Voter Accreditation Systems (BVAS) machines ahead of the 2023 General Election.   The National Commissioner & Chairman Information and Voter Education Committee of the Commission, Festus Okoye made this known in a statement on Wednesday, January 4. Speaking to journalists, Okoye said INEC Chairman, Prof. Yakubu, national commissioners and senior officials of the Commission were at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, to receive the BVAS on Tuesday, revealing the Commission created four airport hubs in Abuja, Kano, Lagos, and Port Harcourt. He said several flights delivered the BVAS to the designated airports for movement to states of the Federation in the last four months ahead of the elections.
