 House of Representatives Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila yesterday spoke of how the National National Assembly plans to resolve the logjam over the Electoral Act Amendment Bill. He hinted that lawmakers may drop the controversial clause from the Bill before passing it into law when they reconvene next month. According to him, legislators could resort to the option, if they failed to muster the two-thirds majority votes needed to override President Muhammadu Buhari’s veto on the Bill. Gbajabiamila listed the two options while fielding questions from reporters after commissioning some projects in his Surulere I Constituency in Lagos. On December 20, President Muhammadu Buhari returned the Bill to the National Assembly, citing concerns about the inclusion of direct primary for political parties as reasons for declining assent.   Two teenagers accused of killing their high school Spanish teacher tracked her daily movements before murdering her and dumping her body in the woods, according to prosecutors in Iowa, US. Nohema Graber, a 66-year-old Spanish teacher at Fairfield High School in Iowa, was found dead under a tarp and wheelbarrow on Nov. 2 at Chautauqua Park, the same day she was reported missing. Police described “trauma to the head,” as her cause of death but an official cause of death has not been released.   Two of her students, Willard Noble Chaiden Miller and Jeremy Everett Goodale, both 16, have been charged as adults for the crime, much to the disappointment of their defence lawyers. They have been charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder.  Family of 23-year-old Lauren Smith-Fields who was found dead in her apartment earlier this month, are seeking for answers over circumstances surrounding her death.   News 12 Westchester, Lauren was found unresponsive in her apartment on December 12th. Her family says that she met an “older white man” on the dating app Bumble, and he was the one that alerted authorities.    While the investigators and medical examiner are yet to make a comment about the incident or release an official cause of death, the Bridgeport family are asking that the white man be investigated.  Recounting the answer he got when he asked about the older white man, Lauren’s brother, Lakeem Jetter said he was told he's a nice man and needs not to be investigated.    Lakeem said;     “Without a doubt, we know that my daughter was not a drug user, and I had a second autopsy myself paid out of pocket because we felt so uncomfortable with the way it was handled.”   He also claimed that the only contact they’ve had

 A married man has been accused of brutally beating his "side chic" who he shares a child with.  Obiechina Egbuonu allegedly attacked Grateful Uche Ofoma on December 28 for attending a friend’s wedding in Owerri without his consent. According to a source online ; “Ofoma lives in Enugu but traveled to her maternal home for Christmas in Mbaise. She then decided to attend her secondary school classmate’s wedding in Owerri. And because she didn’t seek his consent before going, he traveled all the way from Aba to Owerri, just to beat her up.  Nobody wants to do anything not even her mother because she’s scared that he won’t help them again. First, he deceived her that he wasn’t married and got her pregnant. Then he rented an apartment for her and started controlling her move, never allowing her to go out and mingle with friends.  Two vehicles have been burnt as a result of a fire incident that occurred in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital. The fire incident occurred when a petroleum tanker reportedly went up in flames Thursday night at the Agodi gate area of Ibadan, a few metres away from Ibadan Zonal office of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). Sources disclosed that the tanker which was laden with Premium Motor Spirit fell and burst into fire. It was gathered that some vehicles parked within the area caught fire when the tanker went up in flames. Director of Operations, Oyo State Fire Services, Mr Ismail Adeleke, confirmed the incident. Cute Abiola's whereabouts were not known until his layer, Fatai Adebanjo, confirmed to BBC Pidgin on Wednesday, November 17, that his client is under detention by the Nigerian Navy.  Adebanjo hinted that the Nigerian Navy did not state the reason for detaining the comedian. The lawyer made it known that the comedian is also a Navy personnel who resumed to his office at NNS Ojo, one maintenance unit of the Nigerian Navy in Lagos state on Monday, November 15, morning.   However, the Nigerian Navy has also confirmed Cute Abiola's arrest, by sharing a press release that the comedian breached one of the naval social media policies and refusal to obey a particular order 

On a personal note, I don't believe in Christianity, Islam or any other religion, not that I am an atheist, But in my own little understand I believe in the existence of something beyond human understanding, "SPRITUALITY". Growing in the mist of ”religious fanatics" you are left with no choice than to either inherit or stick to a believer . We live in a world where we are been judge by religion and you have to be the devil to the opposite religion.  Why can't people start respecting  people’s believe and traditions, this is more racism  than skin types and color  , we can't marry from the opposite religion yet we are from same families and claim to be one. We stay away from each other because we don't worship same deity.   Operatives of the  Delta State Police Command has arrested a robbery suspect and recovered one locally-made gun with two live cartridges from him.   Spokesperson of the command, DSP Bright Edafe, in a statement on Tuesday, said that the suspect identified as Ovie Maxwell, 25, was arrested by operatives from the Ekpan Divisional Police Station on Monday at about 5pm.  The arrest followed a tip-off that a young man was being robbed by a gang of two suspected armed robbers on the way to work with his brother.    "On 15/11/21 at about 0700hrs, information got to the DPO Ekpan Police Station that a young man (name withheld) of refinery road Ekpan was being robbed by a gang of two suspected armed robbers," the PPRO stated.   "The incidence occurred on same date while the victim and his younger brother were going to work.   On this day 107 years ago, passengers of the RMS ‘Titanic’ enjoyed their last evening aboard the ship. An elaborate retirement party was thrown by Mr. and Mrs. George Dunton Widener in honor of the ‘Titanic’s captain, Edward J. Smith. That evening at 11:40pm, the ship struck an iceberg on the starboard side and immediately started taking on water. The very next morning around 2:30am, the ‘Titanic’ foundered taking with her the lives of more than 1,500 people, including those of George Dunton Widener and his son, Harry Elkins Widener. The Widener Family suffered their greatest loss in 1912 and, three later in 1915, P.A.B. ultimately passed away from a combination of old age and heartbreak.
