Although the museum in Manchester, England, didn't explicitly connect the statue's removal to allegations against Jackson, the fallout from the "Leaving Neverland" documentary has prompted some to boycott his music. Economic and Financial Crimes Commission ( EFCC ) Acting Chairman Ibrahim Magu Thursday warned judges and lawyers involved in election petition tribunals against money laundering. He said they must not allow the influence of money and other inducements to hamper the process and determine the outcome of petitions. Magu, in a statement, noted that many judges wrongly see Election Tribunals and Appeal Panels as potential gold mines. The man accused of killing his tenant in a brutal attack at the Ashanti Regional community of Gromesa in the newly created Adansi-Akrofuom District, has been arrested at his hideout in Accra. Abraham Mantey was alleged to have cut the throat of his father's tenant, Eric Tetteh, leading to victim's untimely death; throwing the Gromesa community into a state of shock last Sunday. The deceased, Eric Tetteh, a farmer, had his throat slit in the presence of his wife, Evelyn Dansowaa, around 7:00 pm for refusing to vacate his r oom. Suspect Abraham Mantey had ordered the deceased and his wife to leave the house but they refused, Obuasi Municipal Police Commander, DSP Martin Assenso, said. Atiku secures first victory at appeal court as judges Court orders INEC to release election materials The Court of Appeal has ordered INEC to allow Atiku Abubakar and his party, PDP, have access to all certified copies of the materials used in conducting the 2019 presidential election. The three-member panel led Abdul Aboki also ordered INEC to make available to Mr Abubakar and the PDP all documents and electoral materials used for the election for the purpose of the inspection. Delivering a unanimous ruling on the exparte motion filed by Mr Abubakar and the PDP, Mr Aboki, however, refused the applicants’ prayers for scanning and forensic analysis of the election materials. The court also refused to direct INEC to make available all polling documents for forensic analysis as requested by the applicants. The court, in addition, refused to order the electoral body to permit forensic experts of the applicants to examine form EC48 and other relevant forms used for the election

EFCC, on March 6, 2019, arraigned Tunde Ayeni, a former Chairman, Board of Directors, Skye Bank Plc, before Justice Valentine Ashi of a Federal Capital Territory, FCT High Court, Apo on a four-count charge, bordering on criminal breach of trust to the tune of N4,597,500,000. Singer R. Kelly has been taken into custody for failure to pay $161,000 in child support and was jailed Wednesday evening, according to the Cook County Sheriff's Office in Chicago. Supporters are working to get Kelly, 52, out of jail by next Wednesday, publicist Darrell Johnson told reporters at the Richard J. Daley Center. "He came here in good spirits, expecting to walk out," Johnson said. "He came here to ... make some arrangements with what he had, I think it was $50,000 or $60,000 that he was willing to pay." When a reporter asked Johnson how Kelly was feeling about going back to jail, he replied, "Depressed, deflated, upset." Johnson said once someone pays the $161,000, Kelly will be freed from jail.

Four children of the same mother were burnt to death at their home in Animal Line by Dore Street, off Mciver Market in Warri, Delta State, on Tuesday night, March 5th. The children who were between the ages of six months to six years old, were in their house waiting for their mum to finish preparing dinner when an explosion that engulfed their building occurred. Although the cause of the fire is yet unknown, it is believed that the mother might have been using adulterated kerosene to cook. The mother of the children sustained serious burns and was rushed to Oghara hospital where she is receiving medical attention.  Chairman of the Warri South Local Government Area, Dr Michael Tidi, who was at the scene of the incident on Wednesday morning, said the remains of the children has been deposited in the morgue.

President Buhari today reassured Nigerians that he would not let them down in his second term in office. He said this when he received the leadership of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), who paid him a congratulatory visit at the state house in Abuja. Patients admitted at Kwekwe General Hospital are starving as the health facility is reportedly failing to provide food to its inmates on a daily basis. This was revealed by Kwekwe General Hospital medical superintendent Dr Patricia Mapanda during a drought relief meeting held at the District Administrator’s office in the Midlands town. Mapanda said patients at the government health institution would sometimes go for 2 to 3 days without food adding that the situation has been compounded by the imminent drought confronting the troubled Southern African country. She called for immediate government intervention while saying the worst hit inmates were those from the rural areas. “We are seeking for immediate intervention from government institutions such as The Grain Marketing Board (GMB), Social Welfare and Agritex. “More food relief programmes are needed for the hospital to be able to cater for our inmates,” she said. The police in Lagos have arrested Chef Joshua Usulor, for allegedly killing a female lawyer, Feyitayo Obot, 34, inside a hotel at Opebi, Ikeja. Usulor, 21, was said to have been arrested on February 28, 2019,at his hideout in Victoria Island, a month after he committed the alleged offence. According to a statement released Monday evening by police spokesman Chike Oti, the suspect sneaked into the victim’s room, stabbed her and slit her throat. Oti said police investigation showed Usulor had sneaked into the woman’s room in a bid to rob her but she caught and resisted him. After ensuring that the woman was dead, Usulor, the police said, stole her N26,000 and mobile phone before fleeing the room. “During interrogation, the suspect confessed to have committed the crime. He said he never knew the victim before and only wanted to rob her to offset his own hotel bills because he had spent two days above what he paid for. Man reveals the condition of his car after an assassination attempt on his life in Cross River State.

Senator Dino Melaye was, Tuesday, docked by the police over allegations bordering on attempted suicide, attempt to escape from custody and damage of police property. Mr. Melaye was arraigned before Justice Silvanus Oriji of a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Apo on a six-count charge. The senator, however, denied the charge and was subsequently admitted to a N5m bail with two sureties in like sum stands. The prosecuting counsel, Dr Alex Izinyon (SAN), had told the court that the defendant committed the alleged offences on April 24. He said Dino, while being conveyed in a police vehicle to Lokoja, forced his way out and escaped. Izinyon further said that the defendant sat on the ground, holding a substance in one hand threatening to drink it to kill himself so that he can put the police officers in trouble. He also said that the defendant broke the glass of the vehicle with his elbow and caused damage to police property.

A daycare affiliated with the woman who paid R.Kelly's $100k bail last month was evacuated over the weekend after receiving multiple bomb threats from angry Americans. Last month, Valencia Love, 47, from the Chicago suburb of Romeoville, Illinois, posted the embattled singer's $100,000 bail, which accounts for 10 percent of the $1 million dollar bond following his multiple charges of criminal sexual abuse. She identified herself as a "friend" of Kelly's in court documents, according to The Chicago Sun-Times. Chicago Police Sgt. Rocco Alioto confirmed in a statement that "multiple people called in bomb threats to a business" located on West 79th St. Saturday afternoon, the same address as Lord & Child Christian Daycare. The Katsina State police command has arrested one Aminu Mai Unguwa Tsanni, ‘m’, aged 45yrs of Tsanni village, Batagarawa LGA of Katsina State for allegedly having ‘sex’ with two men in a Katsina hotel. Spokesperson for the command,  SP Gambo Isa, who confirmed the incident said that Aminu Tsanni lured the duo of one Abdullahi Abubakar, 20, of Yar-Kasuwa Qrts, Katsina and Rabi’u Yahuza, 23, of Sabin Layi Qrts, Katsina into King Paradise Hotel, Katsina, and had unlawful carnal knowledge of them one after the other, against the order of nature. Reginald Dei, a photographer attached to Bayelsa Government House, is dead. Dei was shot  during the Feb. 23 Presidential and National Assembly elections,   along with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader in Oweikorogha, Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, Mr Seidougha Taribi, while in the later’s residence waiting for the outcome of the elections in the ward. Taribi died on the spot, but Dei, who was taken for dead by the gunmen, allegedly in military uniform, survived and was rushed to the hospital, where he died on Sunday night. The Director, Corporate Communications, Governor’s Office, Chief Nathan Egba-Ologo, who confirmed the development on Monday in Yenagoa, said the photographer died after battling to survive the lethal wounds from the gunshots in a Yenagoa hospital. Four Americans and a Kenyan pilot were killed when their helicopter crashed on a remote island in Lake Turkana in a national park in northwest Kenya. The aircraft came down in Central Island National Park at around 8 p.m. on Sunday, killing all on board. The cause of the crash is to be determined. "Available information indicates that two helicopters had landed earlier at Labolo tented Camp on the National Park’s Island, however one managed to clear the area safely," Kenya's National Police Service said on Twitter. Police did not identify the victims, saying next of kin had to be notified first.
