  U.S. President Joe Biden said that he looks forward to Ukraine's entry into the alliance.  He said this during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the Vilnius summit on July 12. The two leaders met for bilateral talks during the NATO summit where Ukraine's partners pledged to ramp up their support and provided new security commitments. Kyiv has not received its much-desired NATO membership invite, however. Biden said he understands Zelensky's frustration but assured him of continued U.S. support.  The Imo state police command has arrested a 22-year-old man identified as Obinna Ugochukwu, for allegedly stabbing his friend, Nwachukwu Stanley, to death.  Parading the suspect before newsmen, the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Okoye, said following a case of murder that was reported at the State Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department (SCIID), an analysis by the Command’s Forensic Experts led to the arrest of the suspect who hails from Ikeduru LGA of Imo State. Okoye said in the course of the investigation, the suspect confessed to stabbing his friend Nwachukwu Stanley ‘m’ who hails from Umuoma in Ikeduru L.G.A of Imo State, with a sharp Knife repeatedly on the upper part of his body when asleep over a misunderstanding that he failed to give him his cut of 3000 dollars they fraudulently gained in cyber-crime deal.     Nollywood actress, Cynthia Okereke has died. Her death was announced by her colleague, Joseph Okechukwu, in a post on his verified Twitter handle on Wednesday. Okechukwu wrote, “REST IN PEACE, Nwanyi oma. I’m shattered beyond words. The fact that I was about to pay for your flight ticket to come to finish what we started only to hear you went to be with Lord just last night is one of the toughest things I’ve ever had to deal with in recent times. “I pray I’m able to recover from this shock. Life is really just a mist. One minute you have it, the next you don’t. For the more than 20 years that I’ve known you, you’ve been such an amazing, decent, and lovely soul to be around “I never imagined you’d exit so unceremoniously. Words fail me. Sleep on, Cynthia. May your gentle soul rest on till we meet again in glory.” Recall that Okereke was kidnapped in Enugu alongside fellow actor Clemson Cornel, but they were later released unhurt by their abductor.

  The federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has warned that they would reach out to Google to permanently delete digital money lending apps harassing and slandering customers from its Play Store. The announcement was made by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of FCCPC, Babatunde Irukera, during an interview on Arise TV on Tuesday, July 11.    Irukera stated that while these digital lenders are welcome to do business in the country, those that harass their consumers will be dealt with promptly.   He said;    “Our concern is if these lenders we’ve approved are still doing it (harassing customers), even if they do it just for once, we will permanently delete them from the Google Play Store. The dismembered body of a German real estate tycoon was discovered in a freezer at a rental home.

  The body of a German real estate tycoon who disappeared last week was found dismembered and stuffed inside a freezer in a rental home in Thailand, according to local reports.  Hans Peter Mack, 62, had been missing since July 4 when his 24-year-old Thai wife said he failed to come home from a business meeting, according to the Bangkok Post. His remains were discovered in a freezer on Monday evening, July 10 in the Pattaya home reportedly rented by a German friend of Mack, the Pattaya News reported.   Banglamung officials confirmed that the chopped-up body parts which were placed in trashed bags and then stuffed in the freezer belonged to Mack, according to the local outlet.Police were led to the house after surveillance video captured the same freezer loaded in the back of a black pick-up truck transported by what appeared to be foreign nationals, the Pattaya News reported.    A neighbor, 35-year-old Rewat Rodchuen, told the publication that a German man named Olaf and a German woman

Irate indigenes have also questioned the film’s portrayal of Isale Eko as a den of criminals. As a result, the Isale Eko Descendants Union (IDU) filed a lawsuit against Amazon and the film’s producers. The union is demanding ₦10 billion in damages.
