2023 elections: FG to Obasanjo: don’t truncate electoral process

 The Federal Government has asked former President Olusegun Obasanjo not to truncate the 2023 general elections with his ‘’inciting, self-serving and provocative letter'' on the elections held last Saturday, February 25.   In an open letter addressed to President Buhari on Monday, February 27, Obasanjo raised concerns over the discrepancies in last Saturday, February 25 elections. He stated that there are allegations of some INEC officials being compromised and paid to do what they are not supposed to do. He said to avoid causing uproar in the country, the right thing must be done. Woman and lover arrested for murder of her husband in South Africa

  A 29-year-old mother of two and her lover have been arrested and charged for allegedly orchestrating the murder of her husband, Bradley Singh, in South Africa.   The provincial SAPS spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Nqobile Gwala, in a statement on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, said detectives arrested the accused, Lauretta Somone Ramrathan and her lover, Zale Wendel Leo Brock,37, on 24 February, following an intensive investigation.    The pair appeared before the Chatsworth Magistrate’s Court on 27 February 2023 and were remanded into custody until Thursday, 2 March, in order to get sworn affidavits signed.    Bradley Singh's body was found dumped in a pathway along 27th Avenue in Umhlathuzana, Chatsworth, in November last year. Peter Obi takes the lead in Benue as he wins 9 out of 14 LGAs Peter Obi takes the lead in Benue as he wins 9 out of 14 LGAs Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), is leading in the presidential election in Benue State.    The Independent National Electoral Commission in Benue State has announced the presidential election from fourteen local government areas of the state Obi has won nine Local Government Areas (LGA) so far while Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has won five. The results of the nine remaining LAs are expected to be announced later. Below is the total number of votes won so far by the prominent candidates in the state.
