The Attorney General of Rivers State resigns.

Prof. Zacheaus Adangor, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Rivers State, has submitted his resignation in a letter dated November 14, 2023, addressed to Governor Sim Fubara.

Adangor clarified that his departure is based on personal principles, unrelated to the ongoing political crisis in the state.

He expressed gratitude to the governor for the opportunity to serve in the cabinet and denied earlier rumors of being sacked.

The crisis escalated as the state government demolished the legislative chamber, citing safety concerns due to a recent explosion.

Meanwhile, lawmakers loyal to Governor Fubara held a plenary during the demolition.

On Monday, 27 House members defected to the All Progressives Congress, citing party division over the National Secretary position.
