The tragic report of the demise of 36 soldiers, who fell victim to a terrorist ambush in Niger State, brings immense sorrow. My heart goes out to the families, who continue to bear the heavy toll in the fight against insecurity in our country.
The relentless toll of lives, both military and civilian, to unending insecurity is deeply distressing. Once more, I extend my sympathies to our military and security personnel, who consistently pay the highest price for our nation's peace and security.
May the departed find eternal peace, and may their grieving families find solace. To our brave and active-duty personnel, I urge you to remain steadfast and resilient against the forces of darkness.
As a united people, we must confront this menace of insecurity that threatens our collective survival. Development cannot thrive without peace and security.
Combatting insecurity is my unwavering priority for the New Nigeria. Security, peace, and progress remain fundamental principles in shaping a new national era. I stand resolute on these principles.
To the fallen heroes, may they rest in eternal peace. To the mourning families, our thoughts are with you. For the rest of the nation, let today's losses strengthen our determination to ensure that these departed souls did not perish in vain. Our lost heroes will never be forgotten.

A House of Representatives member representing Ideato Federal Constituency in Imo state, Ikenga Ugochinyere, has said that some South-East governors have failed to bring an end to the crisis in the region because they are benefiting from it.
