An infant girl, just born, was discovered abandoned beneath a tree in the vicinity of Ambara Hospital, near Shira Local Government Area in Bauchi State. The incident occurred around 12 noon on Wednesday, August 16, 2023. The baby, dressed and resting on a piece of fabric, was located on a bed of leaves. The elementary teacher, Auwal Maisalati Shira, recounted that he, along with the social welfare officer of Shira LGA, transported the baby to the hospital's maternity ward.
