A British nurse has been convicted of killing seven infants and trying to murder six others at the hospital where she worked. Lucy Letby, who was in her mid-20s when the murders occurred at the Countess of Chester Hospital, is now the most prolific child killer in modern UK history. Letby, 33, committed these acts by injecting air into babies' blood and stomachs, overfeeding them with milk, physically assaulting them, and poisoning them with insulin. She targeted 13 babies in the neonatal ward between 2015 and 2016, intending to deceive her colleagues into believing the deaths were natural. Doctors noticed an unusual rise in infant deaths, leading to a police investigation. Letby was arrested multiple times, and incriminating notes were found in her possession. The sentencing is scheduled for August 21 at Manchester Crown Court.
