Journey of life

When the children of Israel were on the journey to Canaan, the promised land, they were to pass through some cities and they were to take over some cities.

There were some cities the Lord told them not to strife with because He is not going to give the land to them, He had given them to the descendants of Esau and that of Lot  ( Deuteronomy 1: 4-9).

And those cities the Lord promised them, He told them to strife with them and that He, the Lord is with them. They did, and they conquered, exploited the cities and occupied there in.

There are many cities( roads, people, opportunities, events and so on ) we are going to pass through on our journey to the promised land, the expected end, but we must be able to discern which one we are to strife for and which not to strife for.
So many are fighting the battle which is not meant for them to fight, the battles they are supposed to leave aside and continue with their journey.

When I read this portion of the scripture, I prayed a prayer, I said "I will not strife for what is not mine, I will rather wait upon the Lord."

I know of a brother who wanted to travel out of the country, he did everything to get visa, paid a lot of money but all to no avail. He wasted a lot of resources he could have used to start business then on getting Visa. Till today, he has not traveled.
One of my spiritual father told us a story of himself when he was waiting upon the Lord for the fruit of the womb.

He said one day he went to a mountain to pray, he was there for hours. At a time he slept off and saw  a vision, he said there was a long queue of people waiting to receive their own children from some angels standing in front giving children to those on the queue.

He said something suddenly took him forward, he saw an angel giving a baby to a man standing in front of him but the man didn't stretch his hand, he just stretched his own hand forward and collected the baby. He said the  angel ordered him to give the baby back to the owner, that the baby is not his, so he gave the baby back to the man that was not stretching his hand. Then the angel gave him his own child and he woke up from the dream and that month the wife got pregnant and gave birth.

Striving for what is not yours is a total waste of time, energy and resources. It always leads to defeat and you start asking question of if God is with you or not.

So many people will do anything to get what is not theirs and which will eventually land them in trouble.

Every good things comes from above.
Yes, when you desire a thing, ask the Lord for it and if the Lord promises you that it's yours, then keep asking till your joy be full but  if you don't get such promise from God and that which you desire is not forth coming,  move forward.

So many destinies are being wasted by trying to strive for what is not theirs.
I have seen so many people wasted their time because they want to go to university, not a college of Education or a polytechnic. Some because of a course of study.

Some praying for a sister or brother the Lord did not give them and not going to give them and at the end of the whole thing, they would have wasted time. It's a strategy from the devil to waste people's time and destiny.

I pray that may the Lord open our eyes of understanding and discernments and give us divine leading in life in Jesus name, amen.

Shalom
