Honour ...a lifestyle Part 3

 My last series on my write up 'Honor, a lifestyle'

Honor( a lifestyle)
I  will  like  to  talk  lastly  on   this   topic  in  this  dimension.

Another   definition  of honor  I  got  is  that  honor  means  excellence  of  character,  high  moral  worth  and virtue.
Are  you  a  man  and woman  of  honor?  are you  excellent  in  your character?  do  you  have a  great  virtue?
Permit  me   to  quickly share  this  experience  of  mine  with  you.

When  I  was  seeking  admission  then,  one  of my  pastor  gave  me  a  letter  to  a  relative  of  his  who  happened  to  be  a  senior  staff   of  the institution  I  was  seeking  admission  into. On  getting  to  the  office,  it  was  unfortunate,   the  man had  retired  unknowingly to  this  pastor  of  mine,  but  I  met  a  man,  he  asked  me  if  I  sought the  man  for  admission  purpose  I  said  yes,  he  then  told  me  if  the  first  list  of admitted students  comes  out  and  my  name  wasn't  on  the list  I  should  come  back to  see  him,  that  he  would  do  what  the  man I had  gone  to  see  would  do  for  me,  he  said  the man  was  a  man  of dignity  and an  honorable  man  who loved  and   respected everyone  when  he  was with  them. 

The  first,  second  and  third  lists  of  admitted  students  eventually came  out  but  my  name was  not  there,  I waited for  the  last  list  because  the  person  I  gave  my  credentials  to kept  promising.  So  after  the  last  list, I  had no  option  than  to  travel with  my  dad   to  meet this  man,  he  happened  to  be  the  secretary  to the  provost  of  the  institution then. On  getting  to  the  campus,  it  had been  posted  all  over the  campus  that  admission  processing had  closed.  This  man was  so  sorry  for  me  but  he  told  me  there was  a  list  that  was  yet to  come out  and  that was  the  provost  list,  by the  grace  of  God through  the  help  of  this  man,  my name came  out  with  the  provost  list.  He collected  no  dime  from me.  I  enjoyed  the  favor  I  do  not  deserve  through  the  honorable lifestyle  a  man  I  never met,  not  even  till  today, lived.

A  honorable  lifestyle  is to  be  emulated.  I  have received   favor  from many  people  just because  of  my  dad. The  moment  they  hear Ritaro,  the  next  question  would  be Pastor  Ritaro's  daughter?,  then  the moment  I  say  yes,  they don't  hesitate  to  do  me  the  favor.

Mephiboseth  enjoyed the  favor  of  his  father  Jonathan,  the  land  that  belonged  to  his  father  was  restored  back  to him  and   he  dined  with the  king  on  his  table, a favor  he  doesn't  deserve,  but  he  got  the favor  because  of  the honorable  life  his  father lived(2Sam 9 : 1 - 13).  The  Israelites enjoyed  the  favor  and mercy  of  God  not  because of  what  they did  but  because  of  their  forefather,  Abraham. 

What  legacy  are  you laying  down  for  your children,  there  are  some  family  names  that  when  mentioned,  no  good  things  would be  said  about  them. 

I  want  you  to  know  that the  life  you  are living  today  is  not  for you  alone,  your  children and  children  children will  eat  out  of  the  fruit of  your  lifestyle  in  the  future.

We  now  live  in  a  generation  that  devalues  a  decent,  moral,  valuable  and  honorable  lifestyle.

The  fact  that  everybody is  doing  what  is  wrong does  not  make  it  the  right  thing  to  do  and  the  fact  that  you  have joined  them  in  doing  that  which  is  wrong does  not  mean  you  can  not  correct  your ways.

This  is  a  call  for  you and  I  to  DARE  to  be  DIFFERENT.

DARE  to  live  a  life  worth  emulating.
To  live  a  life  that  speaks  good  things about  us  even  when  we  are  no  more.
It  is  call  to  make  honor  our  lifestyle.
