Outcome of Osinbajo FEC meeting on new Minimum Wage revealed

Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige has said that the issue of the minimum wage is a work in progress.

He stated this to journalists in Abuja, after the National Executive Council meeting in Abuja headed by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Thursday.
On when the new Wage will be implemented, Ngige said: “The issue of the minimum wage is a work in progress .
"
After deliberation of the minimum wage, which will be concluded on January 22, 2019, it will be transferred to the National Executive Council and will be referred to the National Council of State.”
Meanwhile, the organised labour had threatened to shut down the economy on January 28,and even vote against any candidates in the forthcoming elections that refuses to implement the new minimum wage of N30,000
