The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, broke down in tears in Jigawa.
Atiku weeped as a mammoth crowd chanted his name during the PDP presidential rally in Jalingo.
The All Progressives Congress, APC, state government allegedly denied the PDP access to the stadium and another venue had to be arranged.
National Chairman of PDP, Uche Secondus told said that PDP was coming to power to put food on their tables and tackle hunger in the land.
“We are bringing in an energetic and competent person Atiku Abubakar with experience to tackle poverty created by the APC,” he said.
He told the crowd that their massive turn out at the rally was a clear indication that power is returning to the party and the state is already on the train to rescue Nigeria.
According to a statement from the National Chairman’s media office signed by Ike Abonyi, the National Chairman assured that Atiku Abubakar is energetic, ready and equipped to do the work.
He said that APC has failed Nigeria and should be thrown out as they have not been able to fulfill any of the promises they made in 2015.
“The choice before us is between competence and incompetence, between broken promises and a man ready and equipped for the job,” he said.
The former Governor of Jigawa state and a Presidential aspirant in the October 2018 Presidential primaries, Mallam Sule Lamido berated the APC administration for destroying Nigeria through their incompetence and lack of direction.
Earlier the candidate led the campaign train to the palace of the Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Nuhu Sanusi, who prayed for him and his team

A House of Representatives member representing Ideato Federal Constituency in Imo state, Ikenga Ugochinyere, has said that some South-East governors have failed to bring an end to the crisis in the region because they are benefiting from it. Ugochinyere made the allegation while appearing on Arise TV on Wednesday morning, July 12. “There’s so much power that the president has in the constitution that he could use to bring this matter to a close within the shortest possible time. But the South-East leaders need to sit down to find a common ground over this issue of insecurity. The most important thing is that we want peace in the South-East because everywhere is devastated. Erosion is killing us. Infrastructure has collapsed. And then we cannot even sleep because our houses are being burnt and our people are being killed. This is not good.
