The military conducts airstrikes, eliminating 30 terrorists in Kaduna, and simultaneously rescues 35 abducted individuals in Katsina.


 The air component of Operation Whirl Punch successfully neutralized 30 terrorists on motorcycles in the Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State. This operation was prompted by intelligence reports indicating the movement of these terrorists in the region. 

Additionally, security operatives in Katsina State rescued 35 kidnap victims from the Dumburu forest on Sunday. According to Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, Director of Public Relations and Information, the eliminated terrorists were responsible for recent ambushes on troops and various attacks and abductions of civilians in the Birnin Gwari area. 

The precision strike took place after the discovery of the syndicate's movement along the Kwiga-Kampamin Doka axis. Upon reaching the location, the troops identified two armed terrorists on 15 motorcycles, leading to a successful elimination through a precision strike.

The terrorists were tracked to a location where they gathered, and they were engaged and neutralized through a precision strike. The aftermath of the airstrike revealed that numerous terrorists were eliminated as a result.

In the Birnin Gwari area of Kaduna, according to reports, insecurity is rampant, with bandits causing harm by killing and abducting residents. Meanwhile, in Katsina, security operatives rescued 35 kidnap victims from the Dumburu forest on Sunday afternoon.

 These victims had been recently abducted from Tashar Nagulle and Nahuta communities in the Batsari Local Government Area of the state. The rescued victims were brought to the Government House in Katsina on Monday, where Governor Dikko Radda met and congratulated them. 

The governor, through his Chief Press Secretary Ibrahim Mohammed, provided each victim with N100,000 in financial support to start any business of their choice.

The statement also highlighted that the rescue took place on Sunday afternoon at Dumburum forest during a fierce gun battle between troops and the bandits, resulting in the death of many bandits, destruction of their camps, and recovery of numerous weapons through the joint efforts of security operatives in the state.
