Man allegedly hacks off body parts of aged woman he was assigned to care for

 One Onyebuchi Eze from Ebonyi State who was taking care of an aged woman was arrested in Umunze by the police for leading a five man gang that cut off sensitive pa-rts of the aged woman for ritual purpose. When queried, Eze said that a native doctor demanded the sensitive pa-rts as materials to prepare wealth charm for them. He's cooling off in the State CID, Awka, while his partners are still at large. 

Yesterday, Umunze women protested and demanded that all the "Abakaliki" people in Umunze should leave the community for the crime of Onyebuchi Eze. The traditional ruler of Umunze, Igwe Promise Eze echoed in support that they should leave. 

I am not an Abakaliki man as I don't believe in the political collection of different people of different LGAs and called a name of a different community host Ebonyi State capital, but one thing stands out here, and that thing is that the people of Umunze are cooking a piece of meal that may consume them. The Onyebuchi Eze of a boy may not even be from the fictional "Abakaliki" territory, but as it's with Anambra people, everyone from Ebonyi State is Abakaliki. 

The truth is that they should treat the suspect like a criminal, not dragging an entire entity into it, issuing a quit notice on all Ebonyi people living and doing businesses in Umunze, a city in Orumba South LGA of Anambra State. Umunze Street is one of the most influential and largest streets in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital. Properties of Umunze people worth millions of dollars are there. By issuing a quit notice on all Ebonyi people in Umunze, they're igniting fire that might consume their own people in Abakaliki who have a lot more to lose than those they're serving a quit notice. Umunze hosts a Federal College of Education (Technical). Does it mean that all the staff and students of the institution from Ebonyi State should quit? What a warped piece of reasoning!

The culprit should be treated like a criminal and not involving the so-called Abakaliki people in his crime. Come to think of it, where's the native doctor from? He's the architect of the entire thing. He's simply from Umunze. He should be served a quit notice as well. Everyone knows it lucidly that in South Africa, UAE, Indonesia, Malaysia, India, UK etc, most of the African crime inmates in prisons there are from Igboland of Nigeria with 70% of their total number coming from Anambra State alone, but is that enough to profile the entire Igbo race and declare them persona non grata in those parts of the world? Umunze people should answer this question! 

It's painful that the woman went the way she did, it's a regretted act and as an Ebonyi man, I recommend that the principal suspect be treated in a like manner to serve as deterrent to others. But demanding that Ebonyi people leave Umunze over the crime of a person or more is an outburst of emotion driven to the extreme...  It'll harm the Umunze people living and doing well in Abakaliki. Igwe Promise Eze as the traditional ruler of Umunze should ensure that no innocent Ebonyi person in Umunze is harmed. If there's any reported case of an Ebonyian scratched by this threat for the singular reason of being an Ebonyian, the collateral damage will be much more on the side of Umunze.
