THE CONCEPT OF RELIGION

Pastors and judges are two sets of people I expect to be more knowledgeable than average people but today I'll go off on pastors.

I honestly cannot respect or pay attention to a man just because he's wearing a suit and shouting into the microphone because he said God called him.

Do you know the level of knowledge you're required to have if you have the sort of authority over people that makes them look up to your sermons and teachings? Like I honestly expect pastors to be philosophers of some sort, because they're preaching and people actually listen and take actions based on words and lessons of these people.

But have you tried to engage these pastors on random issues? Have you heard their opinions on every day subjects? Guy these brothers are dim as hell. Have you listened to these men give opinions on sensitive social issues? 

Like these men, outside of their so-called spiritual calling, still hold very dangerous opinions as influenced by the limits of their intellectual capacity and their immediate environments. When your pastor is not being a pastor he's arguing that a woman cannot be raped by her husband, or that Trump was sent by God, or that I9bo people are snakes and are not to be trusted. He's still being a misogynist, tribalist, and a bigot. He's still limited by the close-mindedness of the ordinary man in his environment.

During the Ihima crisis of 2007 one brother that was a Sunday school teacher was pointing out to the thugs of his clan houses that they should burn. This man that lacked the intellectual capacity to see beyond the barbarism he was raised in, was ordained a reverend not long ago. He has become a preacher and he also has a flock that will depend on his teaching for guidance through life. 

Even if I become a born again Christian, I do not trust myself to sit through the teachings of a man whose preaching is basically 60% of his own inhibitions backed up by biblical portions that suit his basic biases
