President Tinubu Declares State of Emergency in Rivers as Crisis Intensifies

On March 18, 2025, Nigerian President Bola Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers State, a significant oil-producing region, due to escalating political and security crises. 


Political Crisis and Governmental Suspension


The turmoil in Rivers State stems from internal conflicts within the opposition People's Democratic Party (PDP).
